    Applied Surface Science (ASS) covers topics contributing to a better understanding of surfaces, interfaces, nanostructures and their applications.

    The journal is concerned with scientific research on the atomic and molecular level of material properties determined with specific surface analytical techniques and/or computational methods, as well as the processing of such structures.

    Papers presented at IVC 20 with topics relevant to the biointerface are encouraged to be submitted for publication in the March 2017 issue of Biointerphases. The papers will be peer reviewed. Biointerphases is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal featuring all aspects of quantitative soft matter interfaces: chemistry, physics, engineering, theory and modeling. It publishes reviews, opinion essays and original articles for the worldwide biomaterials and biointerface community.

    Topics include interface spectroscopy, in vivo and in vitro mechanisms, interface modeling, adhesion phenomena, protein-surface interactions, biomembranes on a chip, cell-surface interactions, biosensors / biodiagnostics, bio-surface modification, the nano-bio interface, biotribology / biorheology, molecular recognition, cell patterning for function, polyelectrolyte surfaces, and ambient diagnostic methods. In addition to regular submissions, the journal regularly features In Focus sections, targeted on specific topics and edited by experts in the field.

    Journal of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (JBT) is being created as an international peer-reviewed journal that covers all aspects of biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
    The journal has been developed to create a new forum of scientific publications at the interface of biomaterials, tissue engineering and drug delivery research. JBT publishes original rapid communications, full research papers and timely state-of-the-art reviews (with author's photo and biography) encompassing the fundamental and applied research in the fields of biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

    Surface and Coatings Technology is an international archival journal publishing scientific papers on surface and interface engineering to modify and improve the surface properties of materials for protection in demanding contact conditions or aggressive environments, or for enhanced functional performance. SCT scope, broadly speaking, is protective coatings. The Surface Engineering session certainly falls into the scope, as well as some of the session of Thin Films, Plasma, and Bio. There is a special journal issue dedicated to IVC-20 manuscripts "SI: SE_IVC20". Please select this special issue when submitting your article. Contributions range from original scientific articles concerned with applied research or direct applications of coatings, to invited reviews of current technology in specific areas. Papers submitted to this journal are expected to be in line with the following aspects in processes, and properties/performance:

    A. Processes: Physical and chemical vapour deposition techniques, thermal and plasma spraying, surface modification by directed energy techniques such as ion, electron and laser beams, thermo-chemical treatment, wet chemical and electrochemical processes such as plating, sol-gel coating, anodization, plasma electrolytic oxidation, etc., but excluding painting.

    B. Properties/performance: friction performance, wear resistance (e.g., abrasion, erosion, fretting, etc), corrosion and oxidation resistance, thermal protection, diffusion resistance, hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity,and properties relevant to enhanced functional performance for environmental, energy and medical applications, but excluding device aspects.
